Digital Humanities Craft
We provide solutions for research-driven IT services.
We focus on projects within the Digital Humanities and within cultural heritage institutions.
Christian began his university career with a master's degree in Translation. Christopher, on the other hand, was more interested in the past and pursued a master's degree in History. Both of us completed joint master's degrees in Digital Humanities at different times, before we’d gotten to know each other. Christian then started working as a research assistant at the Centre for Information Modelling (ZIM) at the University of Graz in 2012, where he was joined by Christopher in 2016, who took the same path and became research assistant at the same institute.
We soon found out that we shared many interests in the field of Digital Humanities, with both of us focused on technical development, data modelling, semantic web technologies and web programming. Whereas Christian’s interests lie more in the fields of data processing and linked data, Christopher prefers to rack his brain over resource discovery. Currently we are both PhD candidates in Digital Humanities, with Christian's thesis exploring linked data and the potential of using Wikidata as a hub between the Life Sciences and the Humanities, and Christopher's dissertation project focusing on ontology-based resource discovery for research in the Humanities. Alongside this, we also enjoy teaching, especially co-teaching.
